NCT ID NCT07494643

First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study aims to validate a heart ultrasound test that helps doctors decide if a critically ill child on a low-volume breathing machine needs more fluids. Giving unnecessary fluids can be harmful, so this test could prevent fluid overload. The study will include 60 children in intensive care who are already scheduled to receive a fluid bolus.
