New hope for young leukemia patients: immunotherapy drug shows promise in early trial

NCT ID NCT04158739

First seen Jan 26, 2026 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This early-phase trial is testing a drug called flotetuzumab in children, adolescents, and young adults whose acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has returned or not responded to standard treatment. The drug works by helping the body's immune cells recognize and attack leukemia cells. The main goals are to find the safest dose and understand side effects. Because AML often requires ongoing management, this study focuses on disease control rather than a cure.
