Could the bacteria in your womb be the key to fertility? a major study begins
NCT ID NCT05337072
First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026
Summary
This study looks at 1,000 women having IVF to understand how tiny organisms in the womb might cause chronic inflammation (chronic endometritis) and fertility problems. Researchers will use advanced techniques to identify which bacteria are present in women with and without this condition. The goal is to find better ways to diagnose and treat the inflammation, moving away from using broad-spectrum antibiotics that may harm helpful bacteria.
