Skip the splint? new surgery aims to get hands moving faster after injury

NCT ID NCT07382193

Summary

This study is testing if a stronger stitching method for repairing cut finger tendons allows patients to start moving their hand sooner without needing a protective splint. Doctors will perform the surgery using only local anesthesia while the patient is awake, then have patients begin gentle exercises a few days later. The goal is to see if this approach leads to better finger movement and strength compared to traditional methods that require weeks in a splint.
