No-flap dental implants may reduce pain and bone loss, small study suggests
NCT ID NCT07159529
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looked at two ways to place dental implants in the lower jaw: one with a small cut (flap) and one without (flapless). Twenty adults with missing back teeth took part. Researchers measured bone loss around the implant right away and checked how well the implant bonded with the bone after six months. The goal was to see which method caused less bone loss and less pain.
