Could your genes decide if fish oil works for you?
NCT ID NCT00536185
Summary
This study aimed to understand why some people might get more heart health benefits from fish oil than others. Researchers gave fish oil supplements to 166 healthy African American adults to see if a specific gene affected how their bodies reduced inflammation, a key driver of heart disease. The goal was to learn if genetic testing could one day help personalize dietary advice.
