Summary

This study looks at whether a new system of trained community first responders—like firefighters or police—can improve survival for people who suffer a sudden cardiac arrest outside the hospital. Researchers will compare survival rates before and after the system was put in place in a Swiss region. They will also check if outcomes differ when the main medical team is led by a doctor versus a specially trained paramedic.
