First humans receive experimental drug for deadly lung disease

Summary
This is the very first time a new drug called ZMA001 is being given to people. Researchers want to see if it is safe and how it moves through the body in healthy volunteers. The drug is being developed to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH), a severe lung disease where most people survive only a few years after diagnosis. This early study will help decide if it's safe to test in people who actually have the disease.
