First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a special clear dressing alone can work as well as surgery for people who have lost the tip of a finger. About 252 adults with a single fingertip amputation will be randomly assigned to either get surgery or have the wound covered with a semi-occlusive film. The main goal is to see which approach leads to better hand function and less pain one year after the injury.
