Cash for sobriety: can money motivate patients to quit drinking and save their livers?
NCT ID NCT07465588
Summary
This study is testing whether a financial reward program can help people with alcohol-related liver disease reduce or stop drinking. Participants will be randomly assigned to either receive escalating cash payments for clean blood tests that show reduced alcohol use, or receive smaller fixed payments regardless of their test results. The goal is to see if the incentive program leads to better outcomes over 12 and 24 weeks compared to just monitoring.
