Cash for quitting: new study pays homeless smokers to kick the habit

NCT ID NCT04445662

Summary

This study tested whether offering money helps homeless adults quit smoking. All 184 participants received free quit-smoking medication and coaching. Half also received cash payments when tests showed they hadn't smoked, to see if the extra incentive made quitting more successful.
