Lab study hopes to stop scarring in rare autoimmune disease

NCT ID NCT07642297

First seen Jun 16, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026

Summary

This study uses blood and skin samples from 10 people with early, severe systemic sclerosis and 10 healthy volunteers to see if blocking a protein called TL1A can stop or reverse skin scarring. Researchers will test this in the lab, not on patients directly. The goal is to understand if TL1A is a good target for future treatments.
