Fibroid showdown: which treatment boosts baby chances?

NCT ID NCT02577055

First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study compared two procedures—myomectomy (surgical removal of fibroids) and uterine artery embolization (blocking blood flow to fibroids)—in women with symptomatic fibroids who wanted to become pregnant. The goal was to see which treatment led to more live births within one year of trying. Only 9 women participated, so results are very limited.
