Can a fiber drink build stronger bones in teens?
NCT ID NCT02916862
Summary
This study tested whether a daily drink containing soluble corn fiber, with or without added calcium, could help improve bone health in growing adolescents. Over 170 healthy teens aged 10-13 took part in this one-year trial, receiving either the fiber supplement, a placebo, or versions with added calcium. Researchers measured changes in bone mass and related body chemicals to see if the fiber helped the body use calcium better for building stronger bones.
