Fiber pill could let kids with IBS eat bread again

NCT ID NCT06639984

Summary

This study is testing if taking psyllium fiber with meals can help children with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) eat foods containing fructans (like wheat and onions) without worsening their stomach pain, bloating, and gas. Researchers will measure changes in gut bacteria and gas production to see how the fiber works. The goal is to find a simple dietary strategy to ease IBS symptoms triggered by specific foods.
