New push to find hidden heart risks in families

NCT ID NCT05750667

Summary

This study is testing two different methods to encourage family members of people with a genetic high cholesterol condition (familial hypercholesterolemia) to get screened themselves. Researchers will compare automated messages from a health system and support from a patient navigator against the usual care to see which approach gets more relatives tested. The goal is to find more people with this condition early so they can get treatment to prevent heart attacks and strokes.
