Doctors test Life-Saving fetal surgery for babies with severe hernia

NCT ID NCT06946576

Summary

This study is testing a fetal surgery procedure called FETO for babies with a severe, life-threatening hernia of the diaphragm. During pregnancy, doctors place a tiny balloon in the baby's windpipe to help the lungs develop, aiming to improve the baby's chance of survival after birth. The trial will compare outcomes for babies who receive this surgery to those who receive standard care.
