C-Section anesthesia: new study tracks Baby's stress in real time

NCT ID NCT07333729

First seen Jan 12, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 30 times

Summary

This study looks at how spinal anesthesia, given during planned C-sections, affects the baby's nervous system. Researchers will monitor the baby's heart rate before and after the anesthesia to measure stress. The goal is to better understand any risks to the baby, not to test a new treatment. About 50 pregnant women having planned C-sections will take part.
