First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 6 times

Summary

This study aims to better understand how blood flows through the placenta in pregnancies affected by fetal growth restriction (when a baby is smaller than expected). Researchers will use a special contrast-enhanced ultrasound to separately view maternal and fetal blood flow in the placenta. The study involves 30 women who have already decided to end their pregnancy for medical reasons. The goal is to gather knowledge that could lead to better diagnosis and management of pregnancy complications like preeclampsia and growth restriction.
