Groundbreaking womb therapy aims to save babies with fatal kidney defects
NCT ID NCT03723564
Summary
This study is testing a weekly procedure for pregnant women whose unborn babies have no kidneys or severe kidney blockage. The procedure adds fluid to the womb to help the baby's lungs develop, which is critical for survival after birth. The goal is to see if this approach can help these babies live long enough after birth to begin life-saving dialysis. This is an early-stage study to see if the procedure is safe and feasible.
