New ultrasound method could cut false alarms for fetal bowel issues
NCT ID NCT07039721
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 33 times
Summary
This study tests a new way to measure bowel brightness on fetal ultrasound using computer analysis of gray shades, instead of relying on the doctor's eye. The goal is to reduce false alarms that cause worry for parents and overload specialist clinics. About 50 pregnant women in their second or third trimester will have their ultrasound images analyzed. If successful, this method could make diagnosis more accurate and save healthcare costs.
