Scientists freeze tissue in race to save future fertility for At-Risk kids

NCT ID NCT04948658

Summary

This study aims to see if freezing and storing reproductive tissue (ovaries or testes) can help young people with certain genetic conditions or early menopause have biological children in the future. Researchers are enrolling up to 200 participants, aged 2 to 35, who have conditions like Turner Syndrome or galactosemia that put them at high risk for infertility. The main goal is to learn if this freezing technique is a viable option for preserving fertility and to understand why these conditions cause early loss of reproductive cells.
