Can a new acid blocker shield stomachs from blood thinner bleeding?
NCT ID NCT07497893
First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 6 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a new type of stomach acid reducer, fexuprazan, can prevent serious upper stomach bleeding in people with atrial fibrillation who take blood thinners. About 1,000 high-risk participants will either get fexuprazan plus their blood thinner or just the blood thinner alone. The goal is to see if adding fexuprazan lowers the chance of bleeding events over 12 months.
