Summary

This study is testing if a pill called fenofibrate can prevent mild to moderate diabetic eye disease from getting worse. It will involve 560 adults with diabetes and early-stage eye changes, who will take either fenofibrate or a placebo for up to 6 years. The goal is to see if this widely available, oral medication can help people avoid more invasive and expensive eye treatments later on.
