New drug trial aims to halt kidney damage in autoimmune disease

Summary

This study is testing an investigational drug called felzartamab for people with primary membranous nephropathy (PMN), an autoimmune disease that damages the kidneys' filters. The main goal is to see if felzartamab works better than the standard drug tacrolimus at reducing harmful protein in the urine and protecting kidney function over two years. Researchers will enroll 180 adults with PMN to compare the safety and effectiveness of the two treatments.
