Summary

This study tested a new support program for mothers of low birthweight or premature babies in India, Malawi, and Tanzania. The program provided help with breastfeeding, skin-to-skin 'Kangaroo Mother Care,' and hygiene practices both in the hospital and at home after discharge. Researchers wanted to see if this combined package improved how well babies fed and grew.
