Corneal polishing study aims to improve cell therapy for fuchs dystrophy

Summary
This study looks at whether polishing the inner layer of the cornea before injecting new cells helps remove tiny bumps called guttae in people with Fuchs endothelial corneal dystrophy. Twenty patients scheduled for corneal transplant will have half their cornea polished and the other half left untouched. Researchers will compare the number and height of guttae between the two halves to see if polishing makes a difference.
