Poop pills vs. antibiotics: a new front in the fight against recurring c. diff

NCT ID NCT05266807

Summary

This study is testing if adding a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) to standard antibiotic treatment works better than antibiotics alone to cure a first or second C. diff infection and prevent it from coming back. It will involve 220 adults who have a new C. diff infection or their first recurrence. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive either just antibiotics or antibiotics followed by FMT capsules.
