Poop pills vs. placebo: can gut bugs tame a tough liver disease?
NCT ID NCT07477782
Summary
This study is testing whether a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) can help control primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), a rare and serious liver disease often linked with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Researchers will compare FMT capsules to placebo capsules in 72 patients who are already on standard medication. The main goal is to see if the transplant improves key liver blood test results over 48 weeks.
