Poop transplant trial aims to jumpstart cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT04729322

Summary

This study is testing if a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) can help immunotherapy drugs work for people with advanced colorectal cancer who previously did not respond to them. The FMT uses processed stool from patients who did respond to the treatment, with the goal of changing the gut bacteria to help the patient's own immune system fight the cancer. About 15 participants will receive the transplant and then restart immunotherapy to see if their cancer responds this time.
