Poop transplant trial aims to stop deadly infections
NCT ID NCT07464392
Summary
This study is testing whether a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) can prevent serious infections in people with severe acute pancreatitis. About 150 patients will receive either the FMT treatment or a placebo, delivered through a feeding tube for five days, along with standard care. Researchers will track if the treatment reduces infections, improves organ function, and helps patients recover.
