Poop transplants tested to save lives in ICU

NCT ID NCT06603883

Summary

This study tested whether a fecal transplant could help critically ill patients in the ICU who cannot tolerate food through a feeding tube. Researchers gave a transplant of healthy gut bacteria through a tube to see if it would improve digestion and gut function. They measured if it helped patients tolerate food better, reduced inflammation, and affected survival rates.
