Could a 'Poop Transplant' calm a rare Disease's painful gut?

NCT ID NCT05333471

Summary

This study is testing whether a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT) can reduce colon inflammation in people with chronic granulomatous disease (CGD)-associated colitis. CGD weakens the immune system and often causes painful gut inflammation. Researchers will give 20 participants a one-time transplant of healthy donor stool bacteria via colonoscopy and track changes in gut inflammation and symptoms over six months.
