First seen Jan 24, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study is testing whether fecal microbiome transplants (FMT) can help people with anorexia nervosa by changing their gut bacteria. The researchers want to see if this treatment is safe and tolerable for 20 adults with anorexia. They will also look at how FMT affects thinking, mood, and body chemistry. This is an early-stage study focused on gathering information, not a proven cure.
