Could a quick Finger-Prick test help doctors decide on antibiotics?

NCT ID NCT06746259

Summary

This study tested whether a simple finger-prick test called FebriDx could accurately tell if a respiratory infection was caused by bacteria or a virus when used by people without any lab training. Researchers compared results from untrained users to those from trained professionals in 800 patients with fever and respiratory symptoms. The goal was to see if the test is simple and reliable enough for use in places like clinics or pharmacies.
