New injection aims to tame dangerous fat levels in rare disorder

NCT ID NCT05902598

Summary

This study tested an experimental injection called Plozasiran in Chinese adults with familial chylomicronemia syndrome (FCS), a rare genetic disorder that causes extremely high levels of fat in the blood. The main goal was to see if the injection could safely and effectively lower these fat levels over a long period. For about two years, 37 participants received either the real injection or a placebo (dummy shot) without knowing which one they got.
