Head-to-Head trial tests which pill better fights fatty liver
NCT ID NCT05042245
Summary
This study tested if a medication called ornithine aspartate granules works as well as or better than a common supplement (silymarin) for treating non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). It involved 237 adults with NAFLD and measured if the treatment could reduce liver fat and improve liver enzyme levels and quality of life. The trial was designed to be fair by randomly assigning patients to a treatment and keeping both patients and doctors unaware of which one they received.
