Fatty liver may cloud Surgeons' view during key procedure
NCT ID NCT07297225
Summary
This study looked at whether having a fatty liver makes it harder for surgeons to see important bile ducts clearly during gallbladder surgery using a special fluorescent dye. Researchers studied 150 patients to see how fatty liver disease affects the quality of this imaging. Their goal was to create a model that can predict before surgery how clear the images will be, which could help with surgical planning.
