Cancer survivors may age faster: new study investigates

NCT ID NCT07114614

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 03, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This study looks at whether people who have survived cancer have higher levels of certain proteins (Fatty Acid Binding Proteins) and aging markers in their blood compared to people who never had cancer. Researchers think these higher levels might come from the cancer or its treatment and could raise the risk of chronic conditions like diabetes, high cholesterol, and obesity. The study will enroll 120 participants and compare protein levels with the type of cancer treatment received.
