Talking therapy for dads: a new approach to perinatal depression

NCT ID NCT07166237

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 13, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tests whether a 9-week online group therapy program (cognitive behavioural therapy) is a practical way to help fathers and non-birthing parents who have depression during their partner's pregnancy or the first 18 months after birth. About 48 participants in Ontario will be randomly assigned to either receive the therapy plus usual care, or usual care alone. The main goal is to see if this approach is feasible, not yet to prove it works.
