First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study tests a short, 5-session counseling program called LEAD for fathers in Kenya who have depression and drink alcohol. The program is delivered by trained peer counselors (other fathers) to see if it improves fathers' mental health, parenting, and their children's well-being. About 102 fathers will be randomly assigned to receive LEAD right away or after a waiting period. The goal is to see if this approach is practical and helpful in real-world settings.
