Could your own fat help heal burn scars better?

NCT ID NCT06857435

First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a person's own fat tissue, combined with a skin graft, can improve tight scars from burns or injuries better than standard skin grafting alone. About 40 adults with scar contractures will receive either the new fat-based method or the usual treatment. The goal is to see if the new approach reduces scarring, improves healing, and lowers infection risk.
