Could your own fat help heal severe burns and reduce scarring?

NCT ID NCT06857448

First seen Nov 05, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests whether using a patient's own fat tissue, combined with a skin graft, can improve healing and reduce scarring after severe burns or traumatic skin loss. About 68 adults with recent full-thickness wounds will receive this one-step procedure and be compared to those who had standard treatment. The goal is to see if this approach leads to better scar appearance, fewer surgeries, and lower infection risk.
