Can a monthly fasting diet protect the brain from Alzheimer's?
NCT ID NCT06682767
Summary
This study is testing whether following a special, low-calorie 'fasting-mimicking' diet for 5 days each month is safe and might improve brain blood flow in middle-aged adults who have a genetic risk factor for Alzheimer's disease. Forty participants will be randomly assigned to either try this diet for six months or receive general healthy eating advice. Researchers will measure safety, brain blood flow, and some thinking skills to see if the diet shows any early promise.
