Race against time: bypassing ER could save stroke patients from disability
NCT ID NCT06825897
Summary
This study compares two approaches for treating severe stroke caused by major blood clots. Researchers want to know if taking patients directly to the specialized treatment room upon hospital arrival leads to better recovery than the standard approach of first evaluating them in the emergency department. The trial involves about 2,000 adults who arrive at participating stroke centers within 7 hours of symptoms starting.
