First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 23 times
Summary
This study aims to improve how doctors detect infection in patients with severe pancreatitis. Researchers will use a new blood test that looks for genetic material from germs and the body's immune response. The goal is to quickly tell if dead tissue in the pancreas is infected, so patients get the right treatment sooner and avoid unnecessary antibiotics. The study will enroll 200 patients across four hospitals.
