New blood test aims to speed up infection diagnosis for vulnerable patients

NCT ID NCT07110636

Summary

This study is testing if a new blood test, called the Karius Spectrum test, can help doctors identify the specific cause of an infection faster than current standard tests alone. It involves 2,000 adult participants with weakened immune systems, such as organ transplant recipients or cancer patients, who have a suspected infection. The goal is to see if getting test results quicker leads to starting the right treatment sooner.
