One-Minute scan could replace invasive heart tests

NCT ID NCT07192965

Summary

This study is testing a new, faster type of CT scan for people who come to the emergency room with chest pain and high troponin levels (a sign of possible heart injury). The new scan doesn't require an electrocardiogram (ECG) and can check the heart, lungs, and major blood vessels in about 1-2 minutes. Researchers want to see if this quick scan is as accurate as the current standard, invasive coronary angiography, at finding serious heart problems. If successful, it could help many patients avoid more invasive tests.
