Ready-to-Use blood clotting product could stop surgical bleeding faster
NCT ID NCT05711524
Summary
This study compared two FDA-approved blood products used to control serious bleeding during major heart and liver transplant surgeries. Researchers tested whether a new version of the product, which can be stored ready-to-use for 5 days, works better than the traditional version that takes nearly an hour to prepare. They wanted to see if having the treatment immediately available could stop bleeding sooner and reduce the need for patients to receive other blood products.
