Summary
This study evaluated a new test called QIAstat-Dx that can detect 15 different viruses, bacteria, and fungi causing meningitis or encephalitis in just one hour. Researchers used 170 stored spinal fluid samples to see how accurate the test was compared to standard methods. Faster diagnosis could lead to quicker treatment and fewer long-term brain problems.
